Early Years Funding
We are able to provide places for three and four year old children
who are eligible for LEA Nursery Education Grant, subject to
available spaces. Eligible children can receive a core place
for 2.5 hours per session, for 5 sessions a week, for up to
11 weeks in the terms in which they are eligible, for which
the Grant is the only funding. The Grant may also be used to
supplement places where the parents pay top-up fees. Please
apply to the office (01480 386241) for more details.
Nursery Education Grant
This is available for eligible children over the age of three.
The grant may be claimed for a maximum of 5 sessions a week
and is currently £416 per term (the term is calculated
on an 11 week basis X 5 sessions = £7.42 per session).
Children registered with Clarence House will be put forward
for the grant when they become eligible. The grant may be used
as part-payment towards an existing booking and is credited
to the child’s account in two instalments. The first instalment
is paid during the first few weeks of the term and the second
is paid after the half term week. (The timing depends upon when
the money is paid to us by the DfEE and the Local Education
Authority). For example, a child attending Clarence House for:
5 or more sessions a week would receive two instalments of £208,
4 sessions = 2 X £166.40
3 sessions = 2 X £124.80
2 sessions = 2 X £ £83.20
Childcare places may also be booked for a child for 2.5 hours
per session, for up to 5 sessions a week, for which the only
funding is the grant (core place), subject to availability.
Parents of eligible children must complete an individual declaration
form which is forwarded to the LEA. Parents must ensure that
no more than 5 sessions of grant are claimed. The grant may
be split between two or more childcare providers.
Children who register with Clarence House after the headcount
day are not able to claim the grant for that term.
